Forced Treatment may for a time put medications into a mentally ill person who meets the definition grave disability, or hurting himself or others for Involuntary Commitment laws. I opposed FT when appointed to Cal Net to take part of that organization's ideology.

In my own opinion, long held and consistent with my work and life experiences, is that Forced Treatment causes fear and a lack of progress on freely understanding the needs of consumer's person. Consumers need good habits and kind support with coaching to include them to get through unknowns or difficult passageways from obscure to task management like work.

Consumers free will, with staff persuasion selling to accept supports builds trust because you included the healthy person part prevalence - like checking in with anybody will include their offered participation to gain likeability and honest trust.
